Another draws for the Black Cats. Should have, could have win this one, but I guess 1 point is better than no point. Here’s how the North Eastern performed.
For the third match in a roll, Costel managed to put up a decent performance. Did everything he had to do and made it look simple, unlike Mannone.
Santiago Vergini – 6
Looked a bit unsure of himself and uncomfortable in this match. Schlupp pace really gave him problem tracking back. Did managed to forge forward to make himself an option. A solid overall performance.
Anthony Reveillere- 6
Above average for Anthony Reveillere. Held his own while playing out of position on the left full back position.
John O’Shea – 7
Captained the defense very well and kept thing lined up properly. Kept everything in front of him and never let any forward threaten the goal.
Wes Brown – 5
Poor performance by Wes Brown. At a point, Wes was seen as the better of Sunderland’s central-back pairing alongside O’shea, but this can no longer be true. Another error-filled match by West. His mistake nearly cost the team a lost and looked uneasy throughout the match.
Lee Cattermole – 7
Took charge in the midfield. Not his best work but did well enough to grab a good rating for this match.
Jordi Gomez – 6
Jordi wasn’t creative at low. Looked slow and weak off the ball. If he’s not going to create than what is he good at exactly. Made a chance to score but badly missed the target.
Seb Larrson – 6
Typical match for Seb. Average looking. We need better than that, but at least Larsson was running around. He does have good stamina.
Adam Johnson – 6
Johnson had another below average match. He’s making too much money for this below average performance. Did nothing I can remember.
Put up a much improved performance from his previous outing. Got a few shot on goal which were saved.
Steven Fletcher – 7(Man Of The Match)
Did a good job holding up the ball and relieving pressure. After that, wasn’t much of a threat to Leicester City’s goalkeeper.
Liam Bridcutt – 6
Replaced Larsson as a sub but did not manage to improve on Larsson. Not much of a spark.
Will Buckley – 6
Not enough time to make an impact.
